To achieve the home’s pronounced shingle flares, each shingle was steam-bent in custom forms after being cooked in a lobster pot—a process that prevented breakage at the extreme angles.
Imperceptible to the average eye, two concealed structural steel stringers support the open staircase, evenly spaced to achieve a light-filled design with uncompromising strength.
