Cheerful, welcoming, and full of heart, Sunnyside lives up to its name—a beloved coastal cottage reimagined for multi-generation enjoyment.
Set in the seaside village of Watch Hill, Sunnyside’s renovation transformed a modest, seasonal cottage into a bright year-round retreat. The new plan opens the kitchen, dining, and living spaces for easy flow while preserving the home’s warmth and charm. Natural light, soft coastal hues, and crafted details—from herringbone floors to a custom walnut kitchen island—bring character and refinement in equal measure. A thoughtful reinvention that honors its past while readying it for the future.

The reconfigured layout transforms the cottage from a series of small, confined rooms into a flowing sequence of light-filled spaces. From the living room, the kitchen’s breakfast nook comes into view, its new bump-out window bringing light into both spaces.

In the kitchen, a rich walnut island pairs with white cabinetry to strike a balance of warmth and airiness. The homeowner’s reused antique French stove anchors the room, while custom brass-and-walnut hardware weaves design details into a cohesive whole.
